Brigitte Rigaudiere was born in France in Normandy and moved to England during the 1970's. She studied drawing, painting and ceramics at Camden Art college followed by a degree course in Farnham at West Surrey college of Art and Design. She moved to Manchester to complete a postgraduate in Education and has been working since 1985 as an Art teacher in Yorkshire. She lives now in York continuing her artistic exploration of shape, form and colour using modern and traditional methods. Brigitte has always enjoyed painting and her work is based on the observation of the natural world, influenced by impressionists and notably the French impressionist Claude Monet and his garden in Giverny. Her work is a reflection of the love she has for colour, light and texture. Portrait paintings have developed over the last few years and have been commissioned throughout England and France. Most pieces are watercolour and acrylic painted and textured with rice paper collage. To commission an art piece, Brigitte can be contacted via email . |
